The Position & Schedule

We are seeking organized and inspiring Guides to lead our full-term participant groups ("cohorts") for the upcoming academic year. This is an ideal position for passionate educators, tutors, or homeschool parents who love mentoring the whole child without the burnout of traditional, full-day institutional teaching.

  • Primary Schedule: Monday through Thursday, fixed 5-hour daily shift (Approx. 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM).

  • Potential Alternative/Add-On Shift Availability: We may potentially expand to include an afternoon 3-hour cohort (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, M-Th).

  • Calendar Alignment: We broadly align with the Hillsborough County Schools schedule for major holidays, breaks (Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Break), and emergency closures. We do not take off for their localized teacher planning days.

  • Special Events: Attendance is required for rare Saturday Open House events or student showcases (typically just 1 or 2 per semester). There is absolutely zero holiday or weekend work otherwise.

  • Status: Part-Time, W2 Employee status. Hourly compensation only (no extra benefits).

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate, Don’t Just Deliver: Use our library of premium workbooks and resources (covering chemistry, science, reading comprehension, handwriting, vocabulary, virtues, life skills, art, and more!) to customize, tailor, and lead engaging subject blocks.

  • Maintain Structure with Empathy: Foster an emotionally secure, structured environment. Dynamically coach students through enrichment, academic support, and social blocks, recognizing and supporting children who may feel overwhelmed.

  • Maintain Collaborative Standards: Work closely with leadership if additional student resources or activities are needed. (All outside materials must pass formal leadership approval before entering the classroom).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Prior experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or leading youth groups

  • Deep emotional intelligence, strong classroom management skills, and a love for collaborative, adaptive learning.

  • Strong alignment with our neutral, classical, non-trend values.

  • Mandatory Compliance: Any official offer of employment is strictly contingent upon passing a comprehensive state and federal Level 2 criminal history background check, including electronic fingerprinting through Fieldprint / Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) VECHS.
